The Mickelsens

I was lucky enough to get a chance to go see the children this weekend because our good friend Eric was getting married in Oakland. I drove down with Kylie and Garrett flew down a few days later.
Day 1: We went and saw Rosie's Joy School Talent Show and Rosie put on her flowy skirt and showed off all her beautiful ballet moves fearlessly.
Then we ate an awesome lunch at a delicious fish and chips place overhanging the waters edge. While we were down there we also hiked up to the "golf ball" by Mavericks. It was a bit windy and the girls were tired, but we had a good time. After driving home the girls were asleep so Rosie showed me a fairy garden (beautiful hippy flower nursery) and we went home. When Jake got off we all went and explored the Redwoods (I called it Sherwood Forest because it is such and imaginative place, and I just finished reading Robin Hood).
The bathtub tree.
Day 2: In the morning I got up and ran a few miles straight uphill in the redwoods till I was looking down on them. It was mighty difficult I have to admit, but so rewarding. I came home and we had a relaxing day. When Jake got off we went to Rodondo beach and played in the water, watched the tide pools, and Chelsea showed me the old Ritz Carlton construction site over the water (Roman ruins in my opinion). It was all really neat, and we ate out at a nice place on Main Street.
Day 3: I decided to leave separately for the wedding so I could have a little more time with the girls. Chelsea flew to Autumns funeral, so Jake and I had fun biking around with Annelise on training wheels, and exploring the beaches. Then we came back, had a rockin dance party, and watched Tarzan till we fell asleep on the couch. I got up and rushed to the wedding. It was very fun and great to get back with the old group. We did quite a number on the get away car, and drove home with Mitch and Kylie after a brief stop at Amanda's the next day.
