Christmas 2017 in HMB

May is getting to an age where flying on planes and going to church is extremely difficult. She won't stay still for one minute and hates being confined to our laps. She pulled herself up to standing alone for the first time on her stroller in the airport on the day that we left, right in front of our eyes. She continue to demand to stand for the flight.

Rob picked us up from the airport and took us straight to the farm. We got a tour of the whole place on an electric gator, and walked through the haunted old farm house. It was warm and beautiful and so refreshing to be in the open air.

May seemed to like Pier 39, and we had a lot of fun at the old fashioned arcade. We went around putting quarters into the machines, and my favorite of all was the guillotine machine.

The gingerbread (cracker) house contest was a success, and Kyle's modern art interpretation was to be admired. We slowly ate them during the days following. Annelise and Rosie made a nice showing too.
On Christmas eve it got a little cold, but we got on our bikes anyways and went to the Mavericks pier in HMB. There were crabbers everywhere selling their catch from that morning, and sea urchins for sale too. Jake bought a crab for the white elephant exchange. May slept on Garrett's back for most of the ride.

May loves to have friends to play with, and constantly begged for attention from her cousins, who were very helpful in keeping her entertained and off the deadly stairs.
Rob and Garrett put together a brisket on the smoker that turned out spectacular. What a good bonding moment haha.
We went to Santa Cruz twice. Once to play on the boardwalk, and then another time to surf. Both times were lots of fun and confusion. The Merry-Go-Round was the only ride we went for because mom is feeling a little old these days.
We got a souvenir ring, and I got up surfing more times than I ever have before. The waves were perfect. I even carved it out to the side a bit and got the hang of swell surfing instead of just bubble surfing all the time.

Dad helped a lot with May. I think this picture was taken right before we realized that Dancelle was lost.

The beach was relaxing and fun. We went to a few of them, and found a little stream that the boys decided we needed to block. May was a little shy of the sand, but got used to it after a while.
The full bath with cousins was a little overwhelming but May always enjoys splashing in water.

May didn't open very many of her Christmas presents and seemed pretty oblivious to all the new toys. She was more interested in attacking the plastic packages that came off her cousin's toys, and trying to get everyone's attention by yelling across the room. We got her a walker, a baby foot-push car thing, and she got tons of toys from family.
