May meets Grandma and pa Volmer

March 4th, 2017
Today Grandma and Grandpa stopped by to meet May while they were in town for Grandpas Huntsman Center check ups. They came in and took a tour of our new house, and Grandma held her for a while. She seemed to be better at calming her than I was. May fussed almost the whole time because she was hungry, but grandma got her to settle a few times. I was proud to show grandma the garden I was working on, since she was the one who taught me how to garden,  and grandpa gave me some advice on how to arrange things. I was also proud to show her the partially finished blessing dress that am making for May with the crochet skills she taught me. When I handed May to Grandma, she said: "I had an aunt May. She was my favorite aunt. She was about as tall as she was wide, and had a good sense of humor. She married a tall man and was only about 5'2'' herself so she would look up at him with one eye like this (tilts her head up to the side and looks up with one eye). My brothers used to tease me and say "if you keep eating you'll become Aunt May". Yes she was a funny woman, and I really liked her."
